redecorating

as part of our grand scheme to reorganize this place (smudge calls it "the bad changes"), we dragged an ikea lingerie chest out of the bedroom and put it next to the living room tv. and i thought i would cover the drawer fronts with some absolutely beautiful art papers i bought.

now, this may be off-topic, but i have to stop for a moment. isn't this paper just gorgeous???
anyway, smudge saw me setting up and had to inspect everything, of course, giving all the new supplies a good sniffing.  as a special treat, we gave him one of the feathers jeff bought at the craft store. (he's going to make smudge some toys, but don't tell him. it's a surprise.)

and then i took the first drawer out of the chest. hello!!!
you can tell he's very excited to have a new cave to sit in, can't you?
there was no way he could let this opening just go unclaimed.

anyway, with the help of smudge's keen supervision, both in and out of the chest, i managed to finish it pretty quickly. first craft project i've actually finished in a long time, to tell you the truth. what do you think of the finished job?
